Tools for Heroes: Schmidt Playground

The Philadelphia Parks Alliance and Keep Philadelphia Beautiful teamed up with Lowe’s to provide 10 Rec Centers with mini grants totaling $8,000 for tools.

While all public pools in Philadelphia are closed for this year, Schmidt has a very nice area around the pool they want to maintain and beautify. Alberta, the Rec Leader is an artist and will also use the funds to plan an outside mural to be painted by the students.

When the Parks Alliance's Lula and Steve visited Alberta, she was happy to show us around the site, share her art with us, and talk about her plans for summer camp
